Back in the 19th century, French colonizers introduced coffee tree seedlings to Laos, marking the beginning of the successful cultivation of this unique plant. As before, the beans develop their magnificent flavor on the high-altitude Bolaven plateau, which remains the primary region for Laotian coffee production.

The climate here is characterized by warm, comfortable temperatures and generous but brief rains. These conditions are perfect for coffee cultivation. Moderate humidity in summer, combined with dryness and coolness in winter, promotes proper, gradual ripening, resulting in the luxurious characteristics of the final brew. The secret also lies in the favorable climate and fertile soil, rich in volcanic minerals, which are highly valuable for coffee farming.

Is much stronger than Arabica. It is characterized by a high caffeine content, rich taste and moderate bitterness, density and thickness. The flavor spectrum includes hazelnuts, almonds and walnuts, cocoa, and the sweetness of chocolate. Ideal for making espresso blends and instant coffee.

Robusta

Has a pronounced acidity, rich aroma, freshness, sophistication and soft strength. The taste contains sweet fruits with hints of citrus and berries, chocolate, nuts and cocoa. The variety is extremely resistant to diseases and produces a high yield.

Arabica Сatimor

Harvesting is done manually, so only the best, ripe coffee beans are processed further. All beans undergo washed processing. Thanks to this, the coffee turns out soft, balanced, with richer berry and citrus notes. Solar dryers and African beds are used to evenly dry and prevent crop damage.

Laotian coffee is cultivated in ideal conditions, where the environment and fertile soil allow it to be successfully grown. The Bolaven plateau is located in the south of the country, at an altitude of 1000-1350 m above sea level. The soils here are volcanic, rich in minerals – a rare terroir that has a beneficial effect on the healthy development of coffee trees, literally determining the character and taste of the beans.

An important aspect of coffee cultivation in Laos today is farms united in cooperatives using clean growing methods. Such unions allow not only to improve the methods of coffee cultivation and processing, but also to offer a completely organic product to the international market. The quality of the beans obtained without the use of chemical fertilizers and toxic drugs is preserved, and natural resources are conserved.
